I grew up in Richmond in the West End and attended St. Catherine’s School. Funny how the world works, 20 years later, my kids go there! I received my Bachelor’s degree in English and Creative Writing from Denison University in Ohio. Following graduation I went into publishing and public relations for HarperCollins Children’s Books in New York City. After marching in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade as a Wild Thing from Maurice Sendak’s classic, Where the Wild Things Are, reading The Bernstein Bears with Mandy Moore on ESPN, and helping a handful of celebrities with their book readings, I felt the pull of the South bringing me home.
I bought my first house in 2007 (oops!) and started a new career at Royall & Co. where I learned the fundamentals of client management and exceptional customer service. I felt settled and happy. Then, I met my future husband, Hayden Barnard, a real estate appraiser. I loved my job, but Hayden, now he LOVED his career. I was ready to go after my passion. I had learned so much about marketing, the power of language, selling to a targeted market and the importance of client care. What I didn't know at the time was this was an incredible foundation for my future real estate career.
Today I am thrilled represent Liz Moore and Associates as we reinvent real estate in Richmond! I am passionate about my clients and helping them reach their real estate goals whether that is selling their current home, finding them their dream home or starting an investment portfolio. I believe everything happens for a reason and my past has built me into the successful Realtor® I am today. My business philosophy is simple: relationships first. My goal is to build a positive relationship with each client while maintaining a stress-free transaction for them. My clients have come to rely on me for more than just getting the sale done! I am able to offer them a service that goes beyond the sale.
As an active member in the Richmond Association of Realtors, I work with the Legislative Committee to get bills in front of our leaders each year that impact our communities and also work with the Young Professional Network to build a strong leadership base within the Realtor® community.
When I'm not out with clients you can find me volunteering at the schools with my kids, Ford, Ritchie and Linley Kate or checking out a new restaurant in RVA (we have so many!). Most recently, we added a sweet puppy to the family, Cammy. She is keeping us busy!
