About Maryann Whitaker

I've moved so many times in my life that I really get why it's such a source of anxiety and uncertainty. That is one of the reasons I enjoy being a Realtor and helping people through the process of changing homes, whether it's across town or across the country. It is truly a privilege to be of service to people, especially with something as fundamental as a place to live. I grew up in a military family; my father was in the U.S. Air Force. We moved every year or two for the first fourteen years of my life. Even though we moved a lot while I was growing up, when I moved to Richmond almost forty years ago, it became my home. I've raised my children here and met my second husband here. That was during my first career as a Realtor. We moved away for seven years, first to Texas and then to Alabama, but happily we were brought back here to stay. We made some wonderful friends in our moves, but we were tickled to be able to come back home. While we were gone, I earned a Master of Arts in Rhetoric & Composition from Texas A&M Unversity-Commerce and a PhD in Rhetorical Theory from University of Alabama. I taught for a while and then decided to go back to real estate, where I know I can help people with their housing needs.

My husband and I live in our dream house in the country with our dog Daisy, all of our children are grown and on their own, and we're loving life in the 804. We sing together in our church choir, raise a lot of vegetables, and work in real estate together. I love to cook as well. It's my creative outlet. I also volunteer at Hope Thrift and Redemption Books.

We love working together to help people. It's our privilege to be of service to you.
