Raised in Massachusetts, Karen began a successful career in mortgage banking, where she gained valuable experience buying and selling homes and investment properties. When she married her college sweetheart, Dave, who was just starting out in the Army at Fort Rucker, Alabama, it required her to move from Boston to Alabama. Despite the culture shock, Karen quickly found other spouses in the same predicament, and began organizing social gatherings and still has life-long friends from that time.
Karen brings with her an expertise in moving, as she relocated throughout the United States with her husband and three children many times during the course of Dave's career. Twenty-three years in the Army took them to Alabama, Virginia, Colorado, Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, and then back to Virginia.
Since 1990, Karen's life has been dedicated to the success of her kids and family. She and Dave have three children, one grandchild and another on the way.
Karen has been both a real estate buyer and seller many times over and she knows a good deal when she sees one. They bought their first home in Colorado at an auction for a $500 down payment. Since then, they've owned many different properties in multiple states including a successful flip house in Williamsburg and investment properties in Colorado and Virginia. Karen has a real talent for finding the right house and knowing where to invest in home improvements to add real value.
She is a compassionate, people person who is always concerned about making others happy. Karen would love to help you find your perfect home, discover ideas to make your current home as good as it can be, and price it just right to sell. She's lived in the James City County area for 24+ years and this gives her the ability to find the ideal location for you to feel at home from the day you move in.
Growing up in the Northeast, snow skiing is the family passion. All five family members were up on skis at an early age and enjoy spending time on the slopes. Living on the water in Lanexa, they also love all water sports, entertaining friends and the beautiful sunsets.
