Brooke grew up in Richmond in the West End. She attended St. Catherine’s School and received her Bachelor’s degree in English and Creative Writing from Denison University in Ohio. Following graduation Brooke went into publishing and public relations for HarperCollins Children’s Books in New York City. After marching in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade as a Wild Thing from Maurice Sendak’s classic, Where the Wild Things Are, reading The Bernstein Bears with Mandy Moore on ESPN, and helping a handful of celebrities with their book readings, Brooke felt the pull to return home to RVA.
Shortly after buying her first home near Regency Mall, she fell for Hayden Barnard, a real estate appraiser. Not in real estate herself, Brooke was working at a marketing company based in Richmond as a copywriter. During her tenure at the company, she came to understand the intricacies of direct marketing, the power of language, targeting your market, and how to sell. What she didn’t realize was this was an incredible foundation for her future career. After her son Ford was born, Brooke decided it was time to follow her dream – REAL ESTATE.
Today Brooke is thrilled represent Liz Moore and Associates as they reinvent Richmond real estate! Brooke’s passion for excellent customer service paired with her wealth of market knowledge and years of expertise finding clients the right home at the best possible price make her the successful Realtor® she is today. Brooke’s business philosophy is simple: relationships first. Her goal is to build a positive relationship with each client while maintaining a stress-free transaction. Her clients have come to rely on her for more than just getting the sale done!
As an active member in the Richmond Association of Realtors, Brooke works with the Legislative Committee to get bills in front of your leaders each year that impact our communities and also works with the Young Professional Network to build a strong leader base within the Realtor® community. A member of the Home Building Association of Richmond, Brooke also supports local builders.
Brooke currently lives in the Far West End with Hayden, Ford, and her two daughters, Ritchie and Linley Kate. When she's not negotiating deals, Brooke can be found driving carpool, sweating at Orangetheory Fitness, and enjoying local restaurants.
