About Vicki Burnette
A Virginia native, I was born and raised on Deep Creek Road in Newport News. Being a “Creeker” gave me a sense of community as a young child. My parents lived over what most people remember as the Marina Restaurant while they built our home just up the street. My Dad was a retired police officer and a tug boat captain, you would always find him near the water. Mom did everything, but what I remember most are the years when my parents owned a thrift/antique store together.
My husband, David, and I married young, he is also a native of the peninsula, and my high school sweetheart. We bought our first home in Hampton and soon after found our church home, New Covenant, where we have laid down deep roots, and have been members for twenty years now. My family and I serve in the children's ministry and I serve in Women's Ministry. We have found love and support in this community, they have supported us through the ups and downs of life and we couldn't be more thankful and grateful for them.
Fast forward, two children and two dogs later we were pregnant with our third child and decided it was time to move to a place that met specific needs for our family’s growth. On this new journey is where I learned the value of a real estate agent. We stumbled onto our agent when looking at a house we were interested in. From there she helped us sell our existing home and find a new home. She made what seemed to be an insurmountable task, doable. She walked and talked us through each step, helping to ease our worries while chasing our toddlers around. To this day, she remains the model for how I do business.
Today those children are 18,16, and 14 and they keep us on our toes and in stitches from laughter. Cole, 18, is in college and a part of our church's worship team, Matilynn, 16, loves to babysit, shop, and drink coffee. Garrett, 14, plays soccer and loves his chickens and turkey named Dindin. Butterball, our sweet 10-year-old golden retriever remains everyone's favorite Burnette.
We still live in the house in Yorktown that she sold to us. The Historic Triangle (Yorktown, Jamestown, and Williamsburg) is a rich place to live – full of history, buzzing with tourism, yet it maintains the feel of small town with all the green space and local activities. On any given day you might catch my family walking the trails at the Sport's Complex, strolling the beach, or in the ChickFilA line grabbing lunch.
Certainly, family is the motivating factor in my life and helping families achieve their goals conveys in all parts of my life, not just as a Realtor. It is my hope that you will allow me to serve you in your next real estate adventure. Call, email, or text – I'm right at your fingertips!
