A Virginia native, I was born and raised on Deep Creek Road in Newport News. Being a “Creeker” gave me a sense of community as a young child. My parents lived over what most people remember as the Marina Restaurant while they built our home just up the street. My Dad was a retired police officer and a tug boat captain, you would always find him near the water. Mom did everything, but what I remember most are the years when my parents owned a thrift/antique store together. They connected with the community in a special way and were even featured in the Daily Press Newspaper. A big deal in its day!
Those early experiences shaped who I am today and instilled in me a deep appreciation for community, hard work, and building lasting relationships. As a lifelong resident of Hampton Roads, I have a genuine understanding of the neighborhoods, schools, waterfront communities, and lifestyle that make this area such a wonderful place to call home.
